Al-Hasa Health Center Opens a New Chapter in Specialty Care

Al-Hasa Health Center (AHHC) has reached a major milestone with the expansion of specialty clinical services, reinforcing its commitment to bringing world-class healthcare closer to home for patients across the Southern Area, Which serves the communities of Al-Hasa, Abqaia, Udhailiyah, and the surrounding areas...

The expansion brings together 22 medical specialties supported by 34 expert physicians, including newly recruited consultants and subspecialists. For the first time, patients in the Southern Area can access specialized services such as diabetology, oncology, pulmonology, and psychiatry locally, significantly broadening the scope of care available within the community.

Designed to enhance both access and experience, the project includes 18 dedicated specialty clinics, modern screening rooms that support early diagnosis and preventive care, and a redesigned waiting area that reflects JHAH's commitment to patient-centered care.

For Dr. Muhammad Al-Ghamdi, Chief of the Southern Area, the expansion represents more than expanded services. It reflects JHAH's ongoing investment in the health and wellbeing of the communities it serves.

"Every new specialty, clinic, and physician strengthens our ability to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the Southern Area while continuing to provide compassionate, patient-centered care," he said. “This milestone reflects our commitment to expanding access to specialized services and ensuring patients can receive high-quality care closer to where they live and work."

The achievement is the result of months of planning and collaboration across teams throughout the organization. Reflecting on the journey, Omar Al-Tamimi, Southern Area Operations Director, emphasized the shared purpose behind the initiative.

"Every aspect of this project was thoughtfully designed to bring advanced specialty care closer to our Southern Area community while enhancing the overall patient experience," he said. "The successful delivery of this initiative is a testament to the dedication and coordination demonstrated by teams across JHAH."

The enhanced services also represent an important step in strengthening continuity of care. By expanding specialty services locally, more patients can receive the care they need closer to home, reducing the need to travel while improving access to timely treatment.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Mullah, Chief of Southern Area Medical Services, highlighted the impact of the additional clinical expertise.

"The addition of 34 physicians significantly strengthens our ability to provide comprehensive, continuous care closer to home,” he stated. “Patients and families can now access a broader range of specialized services locally, ensuring timely, high-quality care within their own community,"

This milestone would not have been possible without the dedication of teams across JHAH. From Facilities and Operations to physicians, nurses, administrative professionals, and support services, each played a vital role in turning a shared vision into reality and advancing access to specialty care for the Southern Area community.

Together, they have helped open a new chapter in healthcare delivery, bringing more specialized care closer to the patients who need it most.
